What to Do With the Cyst
The search warframe what to do with the cyst is about the pink bump on your Warframe’s neck, not a loot bug. It is the Helminth virus. You can wait it out, drain it into a Helminth Charger, or cure it in the chair.
How the cyst appears
Nidus can sit in the Helminth chair and take an injection. Other frames pick it up from an infected player in a mission, a Dojo, or an Orbiter. You hear a needle sound and see a short brown cloud.
A small pink cyst shows after 24 hours. It matures in seven days total, when tiny tendrils sit on the surface. Relays do not spread it.
Do not mix this up with a Technocyte Coda cyst. That is a different system.
Drain it for a Helminth Charger
Wait until the cyst is mature. Equip that frame, open the Incubator, and start a Kubrow incubation. A Drain button appears. Confirm it. The cyst becomes a Helminth Charger egg instead of a normal Kubrow egg.
The Charger is an Infested companion with unique precepts. A new cyst can grow back on Nidus about a day after you drain one.
If you only wanted the pet, you can cure other frames later so they stop spreading the virus in squads.
Cure it if you do not want the pet
Sit any cyst frame in the Helminth chair and choose to cure. That removes the bump and inoculates that frame. Inoculated frames (except Nidus) also lose Infirmary access until you install the Helminth Segment.
Curing an immature cyst still works. You just cannot drain it for a Charger until it is fully grown.

Can I remove the cyst without making a pet?
Yes. Sit in the Helminth chair and cure the frame. That also inoculates it against another infection.
Will curing the cyst lock me out of Helminth?
Inoculated frames besides Nidus cannot use the Infirmary until you install the Helminth Segment. Nidus can still enter.
Does the cyst spread in Relays?
No. It spreads in missions, Clan Dojos, and Orbiters. You will hear an injection sound when it lands.
Is this the same as a Coda cyst?
No. The Helminth neck cyst is the Nidus virus used for Helminth Chargers. Technocyte Coda cysts are a separate adversary system.
